Divesites

The divesites in the Philippines are really very nice. And their aquatic life varies from small nice creatures - which are almoset not visable - on one side, to big fishes (until whale sharks!) on the other. There are also quite some rare species to find, such as pygmy seahorses, mandarin fishes and treasure sharks for example.

Why you don't visit once the Visayas, the middle one of the three big regions with over 1600 of the 7708 Philippine Islands?

You may discover Dauin (Dumaguete, Negros Oriental) and it's famous Apo Island, which is well known as one of the best divesites in the Philippines, even over the country's borders. Or you could dive in Alona Beach (Panglao, Bohol), as well as at the very nice Balicasag Island, which is about a 30 minutes boat ride away from it.

Dauin, Dumaguete

Dauin is a small town / place, about 15 km from Dumaguete City, the capitol of Negros Oriental. There are some resorts, separated from each other, which will make you more integrated in the local live, if you ever leave the resort. You can also meet a lot of local people, when you have a walk on the very long beach, which is full of brown sand, due the fact that it's of the vulcanic area.

There are also some possibilities to go out in the city of Dumaguete. It's a short ride to go there, which makes it easy accessible. Dumaguete is a very clean city for philippine standard. You can reach it from Cebu with the fast ferry via Tagbilaran, Bohol, in about 3 1/2 hours, or even by land trip, if the ferry is not running because of any reason. There are also several flights a day from and to Manila with a flight time of less than 1 hour. Map of Dauin and Apo Island
